
CUBAN YOUNGSTERS AWARDED
Within the framework of Joint which organized
the contest for Didactic Resources for young Latin American Jews
“Identity at a stake” in memory of Dr.
Abraham Liberson (Z”L) which main topic was to recreate one
of the most relevant goals: to transmit Jewish values.
The event was aiming at young Latin American Jews,
ages 14-25. To be enrolled they had to create and present a didactic
game to be used when learning Jewish contents.
The initiative of the groups who have participated
and their Commitment with the project express, once more the willingness
of the Latin American Jewish Community of Youngsters to participate
in the Jewish events.
That´s why with satisfaction JOINT and the Libersons who made
this event possible, were pleased and thanked the participants for
their enthusiasm, creativity and intelligence shown in their projects.
Our Community is proud for the three of its members
who participated in this contest have been awarded. Congratulations
to Tamara Roussó, Hower Friman and Deyanis Aguiar Pérez
for the presentation of the work “Celebrating Sabbath”.
They obtained the 3rd Prize. This was a creative game designed for
the learning of this important Jewish festivity. The game is in
all the provinces and soon it will be in all Latin America.
FIRST RIKUDIM FESTIVAL OF THE CUBAN JEWISH COMMUNITY
Last July, in the headquarters of the Community
the First Rikudim festival was celebrated for the first time. Young
people from every part of the country showed Traditional Jewish
dances with distinct and unique features of each congregation represented.
This program was developed with the JDC Collaboration.
