Review
The association was founded in 1926. In its beginning,
it was named Froyen Farein; afterwards it was renamed by Association
of Cuban Jewish Women (AFHC).
In 1991 there was a revival in the Cuban Jewish Community. This
revival also took place within the association led by its enthusiastic
members. In February 1993, the association was reorganized. From
that moment on, many events cultural have been taken place. Its
members are involved actively in every cultural or educational program
to sustain Jewish life. They work closely also with other organizations
within the Cuban Jewish Community , such as ; Hadassah Chapter,
The Sunday School, Youth Organization , SIMJA elderly Group and
B’nai Brith Maimonides Lodge.
In 1996, the first national Jewish women’s meeting of the
AFHC took place inn Havana. Since 1999, the AFHC is affiliated to
the International Council of Jewish Women (ICJW).

Actividades
In the meetings and gatherings held, many interesting
topics are discussed, such as; domestic violence, health care: breath
cancer osteoporosis, AIDS, among others. In addition in the meetings,
Jewish tradition themes and Jewish cultural topics are part of the
agenda, as well as Jewish food contexts and Jewish history contexts
are carried on to promote a better Jewish education among its membership.
Note
We are open to hear from any of our sister from
Cuba or abroad any suggestion any other kind of initiatives that
could be good to reshape the association program activities.
