The Jewish community pharmacy was founded in 1993 by Rebeca Tur B.S in pharmacy, Rosa Behar MD and Adela Dworin. It is situated at the Patronato building in Linea st. and 13th st. The medications donated are classified and distributed free of charge to all Jews living in Havana or in the provinces, as well and non-Jews.

For the disabled elderly, there is a care program for the elderly led by young people who deliver the medications to their own home. In addition there are hospital-medical-supply- donations that have become part of the worthy objectives of the Jewish community pharmacy.

The great amount of donated medicines is brought from United States and Canada. Among others, these medications are supplied by different Jewish organizations or missions that come to Cuba for humanitarian and religious purposes, such as American Jewish Distribution Committee, B’nai B’rith International, Cuban Relief Project, Jewish Solidarity, Cuba- America Jewish Mission and individuals.
